I monitored the sleeping current of the vehicle after turning off the engine. I made a plot, and (with the battery contact good - ie freshly wiggled), I got the following: 900mA for a few seconds till the dashboard went out 800mA then tapering relatively smoothly in little jumps, steadily down to 110 mA after 5 minutes. Symptoms of turbo issues include excessive exhaust smoke, lack of power, and strange engine noises. Excessive Exhaust Smoke. If you notice that your Citroen Berlingo 1.6 HDi is emitting excessive amounts of smoke, this could be a sign that your turbo is malfunctioning. The smoke could be black, gray, or blue, depending on the cause of the problem. It is however fitted to other HDi engines. As they guy said its not on this model but it is fitted to others. I'm guessing this applies to all the 1.5 HDi models (my 1.5 100PS HDi van is also a year 2020 model). I did read somewhere that the 130PS engine is different to the 75 and 100 ones, though this might be just the turbo construction.

Regarding code readers the OBD standard is misleading, I was looking at generic OBD2 units but read so many reports of them not working on older citroens. In the end I bought the Sealey VS863 for Citroen, Renault and Peugeot and it works on my 04 plate Berlingo 2.0 Hdi and 04 plate Citroen C3 and an 02 plate Renault Clio.

Airbags - best to disconnect the battery to be safe. Typically the horn doesn't work because the earthing connector under the drivers steering wheel airbag isn't very good, my solution was to replace the push in earth tag with a ring terminal and a self tapping screw. 2007 M59 1.6 HDi. Hi, my Berlingo showed the yellow warning light with a text with it that said engine fault, it turned off, but came back again. Now the engine lost power and will not go past 3-3,5k RPM. Anybody had the same problem and what would I have to look for.

Bought the car (2020 1.5 Blue HDi 130 XTR) new in January. Stop start was working fine until over the summer I noticed it stopped working. Every time I stopped the green stop start light on the dashboard would flick on for 5-10 seconds before going out and the engine would keep running throughout.
The overboost P0234 code must be the bane of every Berlingo owner on the Planet. I have been struggling to rid my car of this fault but to find out whats causing it is a Night Mare. So I am gradually working through the possible areas. 1. Confirmed overboost fault P0234 indicated and Engine Light on.
