Hi Guys, Went to look at a car with a mate from work today for his daughter, was a Grande Eleganza on an '08 plate with the semi-auto gearbox. Had it out for a drive and the gearbox seemed to work quite well in both auto and sequential modes. Didn't get the car in the end anyway as it had some bad bodywork repairs on the rear quarter and tailgate. Feb 20, 2013. #1. Hi folks. Thinking of changing my 2004 Stilo Active 1.4 16v for a Grand Punto. For me one of the best things about the Stilo is the engine, which is fantastically revvy and to my mind delivers fantastic performance for the capacity (as well as really good fuel economy and a low insurance group).
We tried the 95bhp Multijet II 16v diesel and the 135bhp, 1.4-litre MultiAir Turbo 16v. The Grande Punto has remained a firm Fiat favourite with UK buyers and despite being around since 2006
i test drove both and have ordered the 1.4 16v. The diesel did pull well for a little engine - and the fuel efficiency is great - but you have to give it a few seconds notice if you want to overtake something.

As far as I am aware the 1.4 16valve non T-Jet is still resisting proper re-map power tuning, try checking some Posts / Threads by Oldschool. This applies only to some of the early T-Jet ECUs. But even for them we found a way round. We just clone the ECU with the software from the new ECUs. @ puntoracer37 - The 1.4 16 in the GP can't be mapped. 4Jf1tq.
